Project #4 Blog
For this project we were instructed to manipulate videos and project map these videos on foreign objects. The programs I used were VDMX5 to edit and add effects on the videos and MadMapper software to project map the videos. My inspiration for these videos were some of my favorite musicians (Tame Impala, Rufus Du Sol, etc.) and their audio visuals. I wanted to go for more of a psychedelic trip aesthetic. My process of picking the videos and creating effects on these videos were based on the music that I was listening to at the time. And, when I listen to these musical artists, this is what my mind goes to in terms of what it wants to see while listening. When going to the Spectra Art Space gallery I chose these specific location to project my edited videos on because I felt as though the color palette matched with the videos and went well with the general theme I was going for. I think having the ability to chose the items that I wanted to project my videos on allowed me to stick with the theme I wanted to portray. The process of making this piece is very special to me; I think I may have found my new favorite form of art work. Hopefully one day I can continue my piece professionally through specifically designed audio visuals for artists.
